About Ocean Breath

When I’m near the ocean, it always feels easier to breathe.​

The ocean represents grace. The abundance of kindness that is available to us, in width and depth. To remember there is an abundance of grace available is so helpful for me and it creates a ripple effect for those I share it with. As I look at the ocean, it helps put things into perspective.

 

Breath represents life, spirit and Space. As we connect with our breath it creates space and opens ourselves up to receive life and goodness and let go of life's difficulties. Breath helps our lungs, and lives, expand.

My hope is that Ocean Breath Counselling becomes a space where you can experience this same wide and deep grace—a place to breathe, heal, and unfold into life’s fullness.

​A teacher for 20years, majoring in Personal Development, Health and Physical Education, I loved helping students build self-esteem, foster healthy relationships, and nurture their well-being.

When life through its own challenges my way, I turned to counselling. It helped me understand myself more deeply than any textbook ever could, shifting not just my mindset but how I connect with others. Now I am able to offer that same support to those navigating tough seasons.

I offer stillness and compassion so you can navigate your storm whatever your stage on this journey of life.

What is Counselling?

  • Counseling is for everyone: People who seek counseling are simply normal humans with unique experiences and emotions.

  • Emotions are a natural part of being human: We all feel emotions, and each person reacts to them in their own way, impacting how we think, feel, and behave.

  • Counseling is a safe space: It provides an environment where clients can explore and understand themselves, their emotions, and their behaviors.

  • Encourages personal growth: Counseling helps clients embrace their unique selves and supports their growth without judgment or restriction.

  • Supports relationship changes: Counseling is useful when relationships go through challenges or changes, helping people adapt and rebuild their connections.

  • Facilitates communication: Through therapies like Interpersonal Process and Emotionally Focused Therapy, counseling promotes honest communication to foster positive change.

  • A process of rebuilding: Just like home renovations, relationships (or people) can go through messy, uncomfortable times. Counseling helps in re-establishing healthier ways of relating.

what to expect

​I use an integrative model to work alongside you towards the change you desire.  

You can expect kindness, calm and connection when you enter the space of Ocean Breath Counselling. I work from a somatic (body) and systemic (current, past and cultural) framework to inform my practice. You can expect me to collaborate and journey with you on your path of understanding yourself. Pictures, visualisation and metaphors may feature in our explorations, as well as connecting to yourself through breathing and listening to the messages of your body.
